Day Two: Tour of the London Wall

The London Wall built in the 1st century by the Romans.   It encircled the city at the time, and was only about ten feet and then later made taller.


Ruins of the wall can still be seen in some parts around the city.


This is from the inside of the wall.  Above is a window and at the right bottom is what is thought to possibly be a staircase.  right below the "staircase" is a square hole where wooden beams would have once sat.
